Who we are and how to contact us

Northern Lights Mattress Company operates this WordPress and WooCommerce storefront on Web Hosting Canada (WHC). Contact orders@nlmattress.ca about privacy, access, correction or complaints. Our published business address is 373 St. Augustine Dr, Oakville, Ontario L6K 3E8, Canada.

Information and purposes

We collect information you provide for accounts, orders, delivery inquiries, warranty or exchange requests and customer support, including name, contact and delivery details, order selections and correspondence. We use it to respond to you, administer your account and orders, verify payment, arrange manufacturing and delivery, handle support, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Technical request and security information may be processed to operate and protect the website.

Payments and service providers

For Interac e-Transfer, staff verify receipt in the business bank account; we do not ask for your online banking credentials or accept payment screenshots as proof. If card payment is available, the processor identified at checkout handles card details through its secure payment interface. Do not send us card numbers or bank passwords by email or a contact form. We use WHC for website hosting and business email. Necessary order information may be shared with our manufacturer, delivery carrier, payment processor or professional advisers to fulfil your request or meet legal duties. Service providers may process data outside your province or Canada, where local laws may apply.

Cookies and marketing

Essential cookies support carts, checkout, sign-in and security. This WHC storefront does not currently enable optional advertising or analytics trackers. Optional customer-reported referral information is used to understand inquiries. Disabling essential cookies may prevent checkout or account features from working. Account creation, an inquiry or an order does not by itself opt you into promotional email. Marketing requires an applicable consent basis and an unsubscribe method; withdrawal does not prevent necessary order or support messages.

Retention, safeguards and your choices

We limit access to information needed for the relevant work and use protected systems and encrypted connections. No security measure guarantees absolute protection. We retain information as necessary for orders, warranty support, accounting, legal requirements and dispute resolution, and must review retention as those needs change. You may request access or correction, withdraw optional consent, or ask about deletion by contacting us. We verify identity proportionately and explain any legal retention limits or refusal. Closing an account does not necessarily erase records we must retain. You may raise an unresolved privacy concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes and the former store

We update this policy when practices change. Material new uses or disclosures require appropriate notice and consent. Historical orders placed through Shopify remain subject to their original transaction records and the practices applicable to those transactions; no password, card record or marketing consent is automatically transferred to a new account.

Optional Google sign-in

If you choose to register or sign in with Google, Google authenticates your account and shares your basic profile, email address and a unique account identifier with us. We use these details to create or access your Northern Lights customer account. We do not receive your Google password or access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or calendar. Google processes the authentication under its own privacy terms. Existing customers can sign in normally and explicitly connect or disconnect Google in Account details. Choosing Google sign-in does not subscribe you to marketing. You can also use our email and password sign-in.

Language preferences

If you choose a language, we store an essential language-preference cookie for up to 180 days. You can change your choice using the language menu or remove the cookie in your browser. English is the default. Translations are served locally by this website; selecting a language does not send your page content or personal information to a third-party translation service.
